Endangered and extinct animals plus a SURPRISE at the end!

Hello everyone, its Norah sorry i haven't posted for a while!Today i am going to tell you about the few endangered species which not many people know.

       Endangered Animals

A vaquita

A vaquita is one of the most endangered species on the planet with sadly  only TEN left in the wild. Due to illegal fishing has cause these wonderful creatures to be endangered.

Facts about vaquitas

  1. They live only on the Gulf of California 
  2. They are called ''little cow''
  3. They are the smallest marine animals  of the whales, dolphins and porpoises.
  4. Scientists captured to vaquites but they were so unhappy there that they got released,Sadly one of them died but the other one survived.

Ivory Billed Woodpecker

This amazing bird is thought to be extinct as  no one has seen this woodpecker since 1944 according to the  National Geographic Kids but happily 1 sighting of this woodpecker was first seen on May 2020.

Why is it endangered?

Due to the destruction of forests and the birds main food source beetle larvae.

Facts about the Ivory Billed Woodpecker 

  1. They live for 20-30 years in the wild.
  2. They are omnivores
  3. These birds weigh 16-20 ounces.

BLACK RHINOSORECES 

Black Rhinos are critically endangered wth only 5055 left in the world.Black Rhinos are actually grey, they have a pointed upper lip which is the difference betwwen a white and black rhino.(they are both gery)!As Rhinos are so huge they dont have any predetaors aprt from lions who try to eat baby rhinos but humans are the people who have mostly made rhinos endangered.Humans have hunted rhinos fro their horns so now most species of rhinos are either endangered or extinct.For example there are sadly only  34 to 44 Javan rhinos left in the whole world.

1.They weigh 500kg to 2500kg.WOAH THATS HEAVY!
2.Black rhinos have been known to charge at passing trains
3.Male Black Rhinos are called bulls
